Accounts Assistant – Part‑time

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Accounts Assistant to support our finance function on a part‑time basis (24 hrs per week) in our Liverpool city‑centre office. Reporting to the CFO, you will play a key role in day‑to‑day bookkeeping and help ensure accurate financial information for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping activities using Xero.
• Process customer and supplier invoices, cash postings and journals.
• Handle supplier invoices through Dext and ApprovalMax, ensuring correct coding and allocation.
• Support supplier payment runs and maintain approval processes.
• Process employee expenses.
• Assist with payroll activities alongside external payroll providers.
• Contribute to month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Support audit and compliance requirements.
• Help improve finance processes as the business grows.
• Act as a key point of contact for finance queries from customers, suppliers and employees.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Interest in finance and willingness to develop across the full finance function.

Required skills

• Xero accounting software.
• Dext for invoice processing.
• ApprovalMax for approval workflows.
