Accounts Assistant – Purchase Ledger

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to support the Senior Accounts Assistant in processing purchase invoices for a market‑leading company in Sandbach. You will work closely with global offices and suppliers to ensure invoices are accurate and paid on time.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices received and match them to job/purchasing records.
• Distribute unmatched invoices for approval to regional offices and coordinate replies.
• Notify suppliers of errors or queries and reconcile supplier statements.
• Coordinate payments to suppliers, including urgent payments to shipping lines.
• Perform general administration tasks and support company values and behaviours.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an accounts department, preferably in a purchase ledger function.
• Ability to manage medium to high volume transactions and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team player with a flexible, patient and precise approach.
• DBS check preferred and willingness to learn and develop.
