Accounts Assistant – Reading

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our busy finance team in Reading. The role offers a varied mix of banking, purchase ledger, reconciliations and financial controls within a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily bank reconciliations and manage banking activities.
• Process and code purchase ledger invoices and run payment cycles.
• Reconcile supplier statements and handle self‑billed invoices.
• Carry out intercompany reconciliations and post bonus and commission income.
• Investigate and resolve account discrepancies while maintaining accurate financial records.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to the wider finance team as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable or Cashiering role.
• Strong reconciliation skills with high attention to detail.
• Good Excel skills.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Experience using Kerridge/CDK or similar finance systems is advantageous.
