Accounts Assistant – Swindon

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our growing Swindon practice. The role offers exposure to a varied client portfolio and the chance to develop both technical and commercial accounting skills in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end accounts for a diverse range of clients.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts.
• Support the completion of personal and business tax returns.
• Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns.
• Work closely with clients to meet their accounting and compliance needs.
• Provide guidance and training to clients on cloud‑based accounting software.
• Support colleagues across the accounts team and contribute to trainee development.

Required profile

• AAT Level 4 qualification.
• Previous experience in an accountancy practice.
• Good working knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance.
• Experience using a range of accounting software packages.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
