Accounts Associate – Brighton

About the role

This is a full‑time Accounts Associate position within a growing accountancy group based in Brighton. The role offers a fully funded AAT qualification with day‑release and a clear pathway to become a Chartered Accountant (ACA). You will gain experience across bookkeeping, accounts, and audit support.

Key responsibilities

• Bookkeeping for clients using Xero, Sage and Excel, preparing books from source documents.
• Preparing and filing VAT returns.
• Supporting the audit team with file preparation and joining client site visits.
• Filing client documents with Companies House.
• Financial administration, including electronic document management and filing.
• Communicating with clients by phone and email to address accounting queries.
• General office duties and welcoming clients.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience inside an accountancy firm.
• Minimum five GCSEs at grade A‑C or equivalent; A‑levels preferred.
• Working knowledge of Xero or Sage, plus Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Genuine attention to detail.
• Comfortable speaking to clients, both in writing and on the phone.
