Accounts & Audit Senior – Chartered Accountant Practice

About the role

A well‑established, friendly firm of Chartered Accountants is seeking an experienced Accounts & Audit Senior to join its senior team. The role offers a varied and rewarding mix of audit leadership, statutory accounts preparation and trusted advisory work for a broad client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and complete audit assignments for charities and other businesses, from planning through to completion.
• Liaise directly with clients throughout audit and accounts engagements.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts for charities, limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Prepare and review audit working papers, supporting documentation and identify key audit risks.
• Prepare management accounts and VAT returns where required.
• Support clients with bookkeeping and accounting software queries.
• Supervise, train and support junior team members and review their work.
• Assist partners and managers with technical and ad‑hoc assignments and contribute to internal process improvements.

Required profile

• Strong experience working within a UK accountancy practice, preferably with an audit focus.
• Qualified by experience or professional qualification acceptable.
• Experience with charity clients and knowledge of Charities SORP is advantageous but not essential.
