Accounts & Audit Senior

About the role

Our client, a well‑established Chartered Accountancy firm in the South East, is seeking an Accounts & Audit Senior to join a collaborative team. The role offers a blend of audit, financial reporting and advisory work, providing exposure to a diverse portfolio of SME and corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver external audit assignments for a broad range of clients.
• Prepare year‑end financial statements in line with UK accounting standards.
• Assist with business and corporation tax compliance where required.
• Work directly with clients to resolve accounting queries and provide practical guidance.
• Analyse financial information to identify commercial risks and improvement opportunities.
• Support junior accountants by reviewing work and sharing knowledge.
• Contribute to advisory projects such as business planning and process improvements.

Required profile

• Experience within a UK accountancy practice, preferably in both audit and accounts preparation.
• ACA or ACCA part‑qualified, finalist or recently qualified.
• Organised, proactive and able to build lasting client relationships.
• Motivated to develop towards a future management role.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UK accounting standards and audit methodology.
• Familiarity with cloud‑based accounting platforms.
