Accounts Coordinator / Manager – £30k‑£35k

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Coordinator / Manager to lead the day‑to‑day finance function for a growing business in the construction and maintenance sector. The role combines payroll, tax compliance and general ledger duties, offering a varied workload in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the day‑to‑day accounts function
• Process and administer payroll
• Prepare and submit CIS returns
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Manage valuations and payment applications
• Raise and process invoices
• Support year‑end accounts and liaise with external accountants
• Maintain purchase and sales ledgers
• Reconcile bank, supplier and customer accounts
• Monitor outstanding payments and assist credit control
• Process subcontractor payments ensuring CIS compliance
• Maintain accurate financial records
• Assist with general financial administration and reporting
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and external accountants as required

Required profile

• Previous experience working within accounts
• Experience in maintenance, construction, property services or a similar industry
• Confidence managing multiple areas of the accounts function
• Experience with payroll, CIS, VAT, invoicing and valuations
• Comfortable supporting year‑end processes
• Proficient in Sage accounting software
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication skills with colleagues, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
• Reliable, proactive and commercially aware
