Accounts Manager

About the role

The firm is a well‑established independent accountancy practice based in Cheshire. As an Accounts Manager you will work closely with the Directors, acting as the primary contact for a varied portfolio of clients ranging from small limited companies to partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse client portfolio across multiple industry sectors.
• Support partners and clients with bespoke queries and ad‑hoc project work.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts and management accounts.
• Prepare and review tax computations and returns.
• Oversee billing, workload planning and ensure service exceeds client expectations.
• Review the work of junior staff, providing guidance and support.

Required profile

• ACCA or ACA qualified.
• Solid general practice experience within an accountancy firm.
• Proven client‑management experience.
• Experience supervising and reviewing junior staff work.

Required skills

• Statutory accounts preparation.
• Management accounts preparation.
• Tax computations and returns.
