Accounts Payable Analyst

About the role

Morson Edge is recruiting on behalf of a leading energy company for an experienced Accounts Payable Analyst to join their Finance team in Barrow-in-Furness. The role supports the end‑to‑end Accounts Payable process, drives operational efficiency and continuous improvement through AP automation, and works in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end supplier invoice processing using the Medius AP automation system.
• Process invoices directly within SAP where required and validate VAT application.
• Analyse aged creditor reports to support supplier management and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Run payment proposals and post payments accurately in SAP.
• Handle queries via the shared Accounts Payable inbox.
• Support testing and implementation of improvements within the Medius system.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and increase automation.
• Complete ARIS control activities and generate monthly compliance reports.
• Assist with SAP User Acceptance Testing for system upgrades.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to the wider Finance team.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger environment.
• Proficiency with SAP.
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, reconciliations and VAT.
• Experience preparing reports and analysing financial data.
• Knowledge of Medius or another AP automation system (desirable).
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and SharePoint.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Collaborative approach with effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
