Accounts Payable Assistant

About the role

Join a thriving finance team as an Accounts Payable Assistant, supporting a fast‑moving organisation in the West Midlands. You will play a key part in ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time while developing your finance skills in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and manage the purchase ledger.
• Perform supplier reconciliations and resolve payment queries.
• Run payment cycles and ensure timely payments.
• Collaborate with finance colleagues and other business areas to improve processes.
• Take ownership of your workload and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger or Finance Administration.
• Strong understanding of AP processes, including invoice handling and payment runs.
• Excellent organisational abilities and the capacity to meet deadlines.
• Confident written and verbal communication skills for supplier and internal interactions.
• Good IT aptitude with the ability to learn new finance software quickly.
