Accounts Payable Assistant

About the role

A well‑established organisation based in Torbay is seeking temporary support within its finance team during a particularly busy period. Operating in a fast‑paced environment, the business needs an organised, detail‑oriented individual to support day‑to‑day accounts payable activities.

Key responsibilities

• Processing high volumes of supplier invoices.
• Matching invoices against supporting documentation.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and data entry.
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies.
• Assisting with payment runs.
• Handling supplier and invoice queries.
• Supporting the wider finance team with administrative duties as required.
• Ensuring compliance with internal processes and procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger or finance administration.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to manage workloads in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic to intermediate Excel skills.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, positive approach.
