Accounts Payable Assistant – Temporary (Hybrid)

About the role

Our client in Hertford is seeking a temporary Accounts Payable Assistant to support the finance department. The position is hybrid, requiring three days per week in the office, and starts with a three‑month contract that may become permanent for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Support the wider Accounts Payable team with day‑to‑day tasks.
• Match invoices to purchase orders, resolve supplier queries and request missing documentation.
• Perform statement reconciliations and ensure accurate ledger entries.
• Administer company credit cards, collate and code receipts, post transactions and oversee project/departmental cards.
• Assist the finance team with ad‑hoc duties and any other appropriate tasks.

Required profile

• 12‑18 months of core accounting experience, preferably in purchase ledger or accounts payable.
• Willingness to commit to an initial three‑month period with the possibility of extension or permanent employment.
• Ability to work both on‑site and remotely after the hand‑over period.
