Accounts Payable Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead a dynamic finance team across multiple sites in Dorset. The position is remote‑first with occasional travel within the South of England and will be responsible for overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and cash operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage remote finance teams across several UK locations.
• Take full ownership of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and cash processing.
• Manage supplier payments, run payment cycles and perform bank reconciliations.
• Oversee aged creditor and debtor reporting and support month‑end close.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert for Xero, ensuring best‑practice use.
• Provide Xero troubleshooting, process development and user guidance.
• Drive system improvements, automation and efficiencies within Xero.
• Support finance integration for newly acquired businesses, including Xero onboarding.
• Produce accurate cash‑flow forecasts and bank reports.

Required profile

• Strong, recent hands‑on experience using Xero accounting software.
• Demonstrable experience of managing and optimising finance processes within Xero.
• AAT qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience in an Accounts Payable Manager, AP Manager or Finance Operations Manager role.
• Solid knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and cash operations.
