Accounts Payable Supervisor – Construction

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead the AP function for a fast‑growing construction contractor. You will own the end‑to‑end AP process, manage a small team and ensure timely, accurate payments to suppliers and subcontractors on high‑value projects.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise two accounts administrators and drive continuous process improvement.
• Prepare and run supplier and subcontractor payment batches.
• Resolve complex supplier queries and manage escalations.
• Set up new subcontractors, perform verifications and CIS checks.
• Oversee CIS returns and support finance system upgrades (e.g., Coins).

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of AP experience within a UK main contractor or specialist construction environment.
• Proven track record with subcontractor payments, bank reconciliations and AP controls.
• Strong process‑management skills and ability to lead a small team.
• Familiarity with construction ERP/accounting systems (Coins preferred, IFS, Dynamics, Oracle acceptable).
