Accounts Payable Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead a small, dynamic team in a busy finance department. This hybrid position combines hands‑on invoice processing with leadership responsibilities, ensuring suppliers are paid promptly and internal stakeholders receive excellent service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a small Accounts Payable team.
• Oversee day‑to‑day processing of invoices and payment runs.
• Act as first point of escalation for supplier queries and payment issues.
• Review and approve invoices before final authorisation.
• Ensure month‑end reconciliations, reporting and credit‑card administration are completed accurately.
• Maintain daily bank reconciliations and accurate financial records.
• Identify and implement process, control and system improvements.
• Support wider finance initiatives and ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong leadership and people‑development skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
