Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the role

Join a forward‑thinking finance team in Trafford Park, supporting a technology‑driven building services business. As an Accounts Receivable Specialist you will ensure cash is allocated accurately and maintain clean financial records within a high‑volume shared service centre.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate cash received from customers using multiple payment methods and financial systems.
• Validate remittances through automated scanning systems and match payments to accounts.
• Process rebates, refunds, write‑offs and write‑backs in line with internal policies.
• Support credit control by assisting with customer reconciliations and ledger clean‑up.
• Liaise with customers when receipts lack remittance advice to resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on unmatched payments.
• Meet departmental KPIs and team targets for accuracy and efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience in accounts receivable or a shared services environment.
• Proven ability to handle multiple accounts and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of numerical accuracy.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
