Accounts Semi Senior – Accounting Practice

About the role

Our client, a growing local accountancy practice, is seeking an Accounts Semi Senior to join their dynamic Accounts department. You will work closely with senior accountants, providing support on complex accounting tasks while developing your technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Review work of Accounts Assistants and provide timely feedback and training.
• Prepare complex elements such as VAT controls, PAYE controls, and draft annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Ensure compliance with current reporting legislation, including FRS105 and FRS102(1A) where applicable.
• Maintain accurate working papers and lead schedules, performing analytical reviews of balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
• Prepare draft tax computations for corporate clients and schedules for management accounts.
• Communicate with clients to obtain information, resolve queries, and submit VAT returns before deadlines.
• Assist with statutory work and audit assignments, including bank transaction testing.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax legislation.
• Ability to review and mentor junior staff.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
