Accounts Semi Senior – Chartered Accountancy Practice

About the role

Join a growing chartered accountancy practice in Barnstaple as an Accounts Semi Senior. You will be responsible for preparing year‑end accounts, handling tax compliance for both individuals and corporations, and submitting VAT returns while developing your technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Manage personal and corporate tax compliance, including filings and calculations.
• Submit accurate VAT returns and maintain related records.
• Provide bookkeeping and other accounting services to a mixed client base.
• Support clients with wider financial queries as needed.

Required profile

• AAT qualification or equivalent experience in an accountancy practice.
• Currently studying or planning to study ACCA or similar qualifications (optional).
• 2‑3 years (or more) of experience in accountancy, preferably within a practice environment.
• Demonstrated ability to handle year‑end accounts, tax, bookkeeping and VAT tasks.
