Accounts Semi‑Senior – Accounting Practice Role

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious and detail‑oriented Accounts Semi‑Senior to join our client’s growing practice team. The role involves working with a varied portfolio of clients, supporting the preparation of accounts and delivering high‑quality service across multiple sectors. It is ideal for someone with practice experience who is studying towards a professional qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts and VAT returns.
• Support senior staff with client assignments and year‑end accounts preparation.
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain records and resolve queries.
• Maintain accurate working papers and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist with bookkeeping and cloud accounting support where required.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and related schedules.
• Meet deadlines and manage workload effectively across multiple assignments.
• Support and collaborate with junior team members when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice.
• Good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping principles.
• Studying towards or part‑qualified ACA or ACCA.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
