Accounts Senior – Accountancy Practice (Hybrid)

About the role

Our client, a leading South West based accountancy practice, is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join their established team. The role offers flexible hybrid working and the chance to work with a diverse portfolio of clients, including those in the legal sector.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end accounts and financial statements for a varied client base.
• Support audit planning, testing and completion activities.
• Produce management accounts and financial reports.
• Assist with tax returns and VAT compliance work.
• Complete bookkeeping tasks and perform account reconciliations.
• Analyse financial data to support client decisions.
• Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Manage workloads to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Identify issues and provide practical solutions.
• Support and mentor junior team members where required.

Required profile

• AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified (or part‑qualified) with practice experience.
• Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment.
• Confident managing a varied workload across accounts and audit assignments.
• Strong technical accounting skills with good software knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills and a client‑focused approach.
• Legal sector experience and knowledge of Solicitors' Accounts Rules advantageous but not essential.
