Accounts Senior – Accounting & Tax Role

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Senior to join our growing team in Chorley. The role offers a permanent position within a top‑20 UK accountancy firm, providing a mix of accounting, tax and client‑training responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare sole trader, partnership and company accounts, including corporation tax returns.
• Review and finalise year‑end accounts prepared by junior staff for manager sign‑off.
• Check VAT returns and bookkeeping produced by junior members.
• Assist in the preparation of personal tax returns for manager review.
• Deliver cloud‑software training (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) to staff and clients.
• Coach junior team members and support their development.
• Handle general office administration tasks as required.

Required profile

• AAT qualified or working towards ACCA/ACA qualification.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using cloud accounting packages such as QuickBooks, Xero and Sage.
• High level of honesty, integrity and a desire to progress.
• Effective communicator and collaborative team player.
