Accounts Senior – Chartered Accountancy Firm

About the role

The firm is a well‑established full‑service chartered accountancy practice serving a diverse client base across multiple sectors. They are seeking an Accounts Senior to join the busy business services team, delivering high‑quality accountancy work for a variety of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for entities such as limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, charities and groups.
• Prepare and review VAT returns, bookkeeping assignments and management accounts.
• Ensure work is completed within agreed timescales and budgets.
• Manage outsource function, including sending jobs out, handling queries and conducting initial reviews.
• Supervise the team, motivate high standards and provide end‑of‑job feedback.
• Provide timely updates to managers and partners on client issues.
• Liaise with the Tax Department to resolve queries.
• Undertake other tasks as required to ensure smooth department operation.

Required profile

• Fully AAT qualified or QBE.
• Demonstrated experience in the responsibilities listed above.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to balance deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• AAT qualification.
• Proficiency with IT systems.
