Accounts Senior – Client Portfolio Management

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Accounts Senior to join a respected independent accountancy practice in Greater Manchester. You will manage a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, SMEs and growing companies, providing high‑quality accounting and advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Produce management accounts and financial reports.
• Review bookkeeping records, resolve accounting queries and ensure accuracy.
• Prepare and review VAT returns.
• Assist with corporation tax computations and related compliance work.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, attend client meetings and provide proactive advice.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
• Liaise with HMRC and other third parties as required.
• Deliver assignments within agreed deadlines.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification (or part‑qualified/qualified by experience).
• Previous experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Proven experience preparing accounts for a portfolio of business clients.
• Confident client‑facing skills and ability to manage relationships.
• Proactive, commercial approach to problem‑solving.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
