Accounts Senior

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Senior to join a progressive chartered accountancy practice in Leeds. The position offers a true hybrid working model, combining office‑based collaboration with flexible remote days, and provides the chance to work with a varied portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statutory accounts fully compliant with FRS 102.
• Calculate corporation tax liabilities, including capital allowances.
• Resolve VAT reconciliation issues and prepare VAT returns.
• Produce cash‑flow statements, forecasts and other ad‑hoc financial projects.
• Assist clients in the preparation of management accounts.
• Communicate complex accounting matters to clients in clear terms.
• Provide supervision and development support to junior team members.

Required profile

• Qualified or part‑qualified ACA, ACCA or AAT with practice experience.
• Enjoy client interaction and possess strong communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of VAT; audit experience beneficial but not essential.
• Knowledge of personal taxation and ability to prepare self‑assessment returns.
• Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
