Accounts Senior

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join a well‑established South‑West based accountancy practice on a full‑time, permanent basis. You will manage a diverse client portfolio, delivering high‑quality accounting, tax and advisory services while supporting junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Complete personal and corporate tax returns accurately and efficiently.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting.
• Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide support.
• Support tax compliance work and handle HMRC‑related matters.
• Review work completed by junior team members and provide guidance.
• Deliver software support and training to clients where required.
• Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines and client expectations.

Required profile

• AAT qualified or qualified through relevant practice experience.
• Strong background in accounts preparation within an accountancy practice.
• Good working knowledge of personal and corporate tax.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members (advantageous).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build client relationships.
