Accounts & Tax Manager

About the role

TPF Recruitment is hiring on behalf of a well‑established chartered accountancy practice near Goudhurst. The role offers a relaxed environment with flexible working options, suitable for a qualified accountant looking to manage client portfolios and support practice growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members.
• Provide holistic accounting and business advice to a wide range of clients.
• Ensure all filing deadlines for accounts and tax compliance are met.
• Oversee work‑in‑progress and client billing.
• Support partners in practice development and business development activities.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Experience working within an accountancy practice.
• Ability to prepare accounts and tax returns for various entity types.

Required skills

• Proficiency with cloud accounting software such as Iris, Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.

What we offer

• Salary £45,000‑£55,000 per year, dependent on experience.
