Accounts Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Accounts Team Leader to manage the day‑to‑day operations of our Accounts Payable function. You will lead a small AP team, ensure accurate and timely supplier payments, and support the finance department in a fast‑growing organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily Accounts Payable activities, including processing, reconciliations, payment runs and month‑end closing.
• Lead, coach and develop the AP team through regular reviews and meetings.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for supplier queries, payment issues and process disputes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders and other departments.
• Identify and implement process improvements while maintaining robust financial controls and fraud prevention.
• Manage the company Barclaycard account, handling administration, reconciliations and transaction processing.
• Provide ad‑hoc finance and operational support to senior management as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing or supervising an Accounts Payable team.
• Background in fast‑paced or multi‑entity environments.
• Knowledge of intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational abilities.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external parties.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions.
