Acoustic Consultant – Graduate/Junior Role

About the role

Penguin Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading independent acoustic consultancy for an ambitious Acoustic Consultant to join their expanding London team. The role offers comprehensive training, mentorship and exposure to a wide variety of projects across residential, commercial, education, healthcare, infrastructure and mixed‑use developments.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake sound insulation testing in accordance with industry standards.
• Carry out environmental noise surveys, reverberation time measurements, speech intelligibility assessments and mechanical services noise testing.
• Install, maintain and retrieve environmental noise and vibration monitoring equipment.
• Assist with acoustic calculations, modelling, technical analysis and report writing.
• Prepare technical drawings and project documentation.
• Support senior consultants with project delivery across various sectors.
• Work independently on site while collaborating with the consultancy team.

Required profile

• Degree in Acoustics, Engineering, Physics, Architectural Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Up to three years’ experience within acoustics or a relevant engineering environment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
