Activities Coordinator – Care Home

About the role

As an Activities Coordinator in a Barchester care home you will design and deliver a vibrant programme of activities that supports the physical, mental and social wellbeing of our residents. Working closely with residents and their families you will tailor sessions to suit a wide range of interests and abilities, helping to create a lively, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement daily, weekly and monthly activity plans that promote independence and social engagement.
• Build relationships with residents, families and staff to understand individual preferences and needs.
• Organise outings and community events, ensuring safety and accessibility.
• Monitor participation and adjust programmes to maximise enjoyment and therapeutic benefit.
• Maintain activity resources, equipment and records in line with health‑care standards.

Required profile

• Warm, empathetic and personable with a genuine interest in enhancing residents’ quality of life.
• Strong organisational skills and a proactive, “get‑things‑done” attitude.
• Enthusiastic and creative, able to inspire both residents and staff to take part.
• Willingness to undergo training and develop a career in care‑home activities.
