Actuarial Pensions Consultant – Manchester

About the role

WTW is seeking a Pension Actuarial Consultant to join its UK Defined Benefit pensions team in Manchester. You will work on a variety of client assignments, providing expert actuarial advice and contributing to innovative projects.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver regular valuations, accounting, PPF levy calculations, individual calculations and factor reviews for trustee and corporate clients.
• Support integrated risk management, liability management, GMP equalisation, plan design strategy and asset‑liability modelling.
• Participate in mergers and acquisitions and other market‑leading projects.
• Mentor and coach junior colleagues, overseeing their development and delegating work effectively.
• Manage project timelines, resources and client relationships with a strong focus on quality.

Required profile

• Experience working as a pension actuary on core UK defined benefit pensions.
• IFoA nearly‑qualified, newly qualified or fully qualified actuary.
• Strong client‑service orientation and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proven delegation abilities and a desire to coach junior team members.
• High sense of accountability, self‑starter attitude and willingness to step outside comfort zones.
