Admissions Officer

About the role

South Thames College is looking for an Admissions Officer to deliver a high‑quality information and enrolment service to prospective and existing students and staff. You will act as the first point of contact, providing accurate advice on courses, fees and eligibility both in person and via phone or email.

Key responsibilities

• Provide up‑to‑date information on courses, fees, eligibility and payment options.
• Respond to student and staff enquiries through face‑to‑face, telephone and email channels.
• Maintain and complete enrolment documentation, including fee assessments, application and financial forms.
• Perform administrative duties such as post handling, reception duties and support for admissions events.
• Assess payment options for learners and ensure accurate cash‑up procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a customer‑focused environment delivering courteous and responsive service.
• Strong administrative abilities and the capacity to work under pressure while meeting strict deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a confident, professional manner.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Required skills

• Computer literacy with accurate keyboard and data‑entry capabilities.
• Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
