Adolescent Social Worker

About the role

Our client Surrey Council is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join its Adolescents team. You will manage a diverse caseload of children, young people, families and carers, providing support, guidance and safeguarding where needed.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload, assessing needs and planning appropriate support using a full range of options.
• Conduct proportionate assessments, ensuring maximum participation of service users.
• Provide accurate information, advice and sign‑post to other agencies in line with national legislation.
• Identify and act on safeguarding concerns, undertaking assessments and planning with appropriate support.
• Share professional knowledge with colleagues and provide reflective supervision to non‑qualified staff.
• Maintain high‑quality case records on the council’s database and adhere to data protection policies.
• Uphold organisational values, promote equality, diversity and health & safety standards.

Required profile

• Professional judgement and accountability in risk‑based decision making.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding forms of harm and relevant legislation.
• Ability to work inclusively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
