Adult ADHD Clinical Nurse Specialist / Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Part‑time)

About the role

This part‑time position supports adults with ADHD across the Scottish Borders, delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care. The postholder will lead annual ADHD reviews, manage medication prescribing, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct annual ADHD reviews for adults throughout the Borders region.
• Independently review, adjust and prescribe ADHD medication in line with national and local guidance.
• Monitor treatment effectiveness, side‑effects, physical health and risk.
• Provide psycho‑education and support to promote medication adherence.
• Maintain clear communication with GPs, primary care, pharmacy and medical leadership.
• Manage an autonomous caseload and ensure high‑quality clinical records.
• Offer specialist ADHD advice to colleagues and contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RMN or RN Adult) with CNS or ANP‑level experience in mental health or neurodevelopmental services.
• Independent Non‑Medical Prescribing qualification (V300).
• Significant post‑registration mental health experience.
• Ability to work autonomously across multiple sites.
• Full driving licence and access to a car for travel between venues.
