Adult Social Worker – Mental Health (Leicester)

About the role

Join Leicester City Council's Mental Health team as an Adult Social Worker, delivering person‑centred social work services to adults experiencing mental health difficulties. You will assess needs, safeguard vulnerable adults, coordinate care, and promote recovery and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive social care and psychosocial assessments and develop person‑centred care plans.
• Assess risks, create risk management plans, and monitor progress toward recovery and social inclusion.
• Identify safeguarding concerns, follow legislation and local procedures, and undertake enquiries where appropriate.
• Work within the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (or Liberty Protection Safeguards).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on assessments, discharge planning, and community reintegration.
• Support crisis interventions and contribute to multidisciplinary care coordination.

Required profile

• Fully registered adult social worker, able to register with Remedy for locum positions.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure (DBS) check.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults.
