Adults Advanced Practitioner – MASH

About the role

The Adults Advanced Practitioner will join the Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) for adults in Greater Manchester. This full‑time, temporary position provides senior‑level social work expertise to manage high‑risk safeguarding cases and support vulnerable adults.

Key responsibilities

• Lead screening, triage and decision‑making for safeguarding referrals.
• Conduct complex assessments, enquiries and risk assessments for adults at risk.
• Provide guidance, informal supervision and mentorship to social workers and junior team members.
• Collaborate with police, health, housing and legal partners to coordinate interventions.
• Apply the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act and related safeguarding legislation.
• Chair and contribute to strategy meetings, multi‑agency forums and safeguarding panels.
• Monitor practice quality, ensure statutory compliance and support continuous service improvement.
• Maintain accurate case records and produce high‑quality reports.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Minimum three years of experience as a qualified social worker.
• Demonstrated experience handling complex adult safeguarding cases.
