Advanced Pharmacist – Cardiology Secondment

About the role

This 12‑month secondment offers an experienced pharmacist the chance to lead and develop cardiology pharmacy services across the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB). Based at Royal Derby Hospital, you will work within a supportive, inclusive team focused on high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical pharmacy expertise to cardiology patients in both hospital and virtual care settings.
• Lead and coordinate the cardiology pharmacy service across Royal Derby Hospital and Queen’s Hospital Burton.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary cardiology teams and UHDB pharmacy colleagues.
• Develop and implement initiatives to improve pharmaceutical care and patient outcomes.
• Contribute to governance, leadership and development of the wider clinical pharmacy team.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with relevant UK qualification.
• Experience in cardiology or a related specialty.
• Strong clinical knowledge and ability to work autonomously.
• Motivated, enthusiastic and able to influence multidisciplinary teams.
