Advanced Practitioner – Child Protection/Court Service

About the role
Leicester City Council is recruiting five Advanced Practitioners to work within its Children in Need (CIN) service, focusing on child protection and court matters. The role blends direct practice with vulnerable children, young people and families, and a leadership component that supports and develops fellow practitioners.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality social work interventions for children and families in need.
- Lead and mentor a team of practitioners, fostering best practice across the service.
- Collaborate with court and child protection partners to ensure positive outcomes.
- Maintain a presence in the designated hub three days per week.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker, fully registered with Social Work England.
- Minimum three years post‑qualification experience in a local authority setting.
- Extensive experience in Child Protection, CIN and Court environments.
Required skills
What we offer
- £40 per hour rate for a minimum three‑month assignment.
- £250 joining bonus for new starters.
- £300 referral bonus for successful placements.
