Advanced Practitioner – Court, Child Protection & Safeguarding

About the role

North Tyneside Council is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join its Court and Child Protection team. This position blends expert clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, allowing you to influence service quality while developing senior management skills.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex assessments, including parenting, sibling and risk evaluations.
• Manage a focused, high‑complexity caseload using expert clinical judgment.
• Conduct case file audits and monitor team data to ensure compliance and high outcomes for children.
• Mentor less‑experienced staff, facilitate group supervision and champion best practice.
• Chair Strategy Meetings, Child in Need (CIN) Reviews and PLO processes, deputising for the Team Manager as required.

Required profile

• Registered with Social Work England.
• Extensive experience in court work, PLO and statutory child protection.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to mentor colleagues.
• Strong communication skills for multi‑agency meetings.
• Attention to detail for auditing and data compliance.
