Advanced Practitioner – MASH – Adult Safeguarding

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the MASH Adult Safeguarding team for Wirral MBC. The role involves delivering high‑quality safeguarding practice, supporting investigations and collaborating with key partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safeguarding enquiries from initiation through to decision‑making, ensuring collaborative risk management.
• Work closely with another Advanced Practitioner, the Team Manager and Senior Manager to support day‑to‑day team operations.
• Provide professional supervision and advice to Experienced Social Workers and a Care Navigator.
• Offer a consultation service to professionals on safeguarding thresholds, referrals, Section 42 enquiries and Mental Capacity Assessments.
• Assist Duty workers with triaging referrals and reducing inappropriate cases.
• Make timely onward referral decisions to appropriate agencies to improve service provision.

Required profile

• Demonstrated safeguarding experience in an advanced practitioner role.
• Self‑motivated, enthusiastic and able to work as a key team member.
• Full registration with Remedy for locum positions and willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
• Commitment to delivering practice in line with legislation, policies and best practice.
