Advanced Rehabilitation Engineering Technician (Westmarc Yoker)

About the role

You will join a dedicated team responsible for modifying, delivering and repairing wheelchairs for patients across the West of Scotland. The position involves complex mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis, repairs and configuration of both manual and powered wheelchairs.

Key responsibilities

• Modify, assemble and repair manual and powered wheelchairs.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical faults.
• Configure wheelchair control systems to meet patient needs.
• Maintain workshop tools, equipment and safety standards.
• Mentor and train junior staff in engineering practices.
• Ensure accurate documentation of work performed.

Required profile

• HND (or equivalent) in mechanical, electrical or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience in an engineering environment.
• Practical workshop skills with hand tools, power tools and equipment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong time‑management, problem‑solving and communication abilities.

• High level of IT literacy.
