Advanced Technical Trainer – Construction Plant

About the role

Reed is seeking an Advanced Technical Trainer to deliver high‑quality training and assessment for Construction Plant apprentices. The role supports learners on block‑release from their employers and contributes to the growth of the Engineering department.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and deliver construction plant apprenticeship training that meets industry and accreditation standards.
• Lead and mentor students through theory, practical sessions and assessments.
• Conduct vocational assessments on‑site and off‑site for national programmes.
• Share knowledge across the Engineering department and support employer partners.
• Provide guidance and support to apprentices throughout their training.

Required profile

• Industry experience in construction plant operations, maintenance or engineering.
• Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant vocational area.
• Strong teaching, training or mentoring abilities (teaching qualifications desirable but not essential).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of industry regulations, health and safety standards and qualifications.
