After School Club Assistant – Lewisham (Part‑time)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic After School Club Assistant to support a vibrant primary school in Lewisham. The role runs Monday‑Friday from 3.30 pm to 6 pm, providing a safe and engaging environment for pupils after the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver fun, age‑appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social and intellectual development.
• Supervise children during snack time and ensure a healthy evening meal environment.
• Support pupils with special needs, ensuring inclusive participation.
• Maintain a safe setting by following safeguarding, health and safety policies.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and fellow staff members.
• Chaperone children safely when they are collected by parents or carers.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an after‑school setting, teaching assistant role, nursery or similar childcare environment.
• Ability to create high‑quality play opportunities within a caring atmosphere.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding children.
• Legal right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo enhanced DBS checks.
