After School Club Assistant – Primary School

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking an After School Club Assistant to support a welcoming two‑form entry primary school in Merton. You will help create a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment for children attending the after‑school provision.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise children during club activities from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday‑Friday.
- Assist in setting up and tidying activity areas.
- Promote inclusive practice and support mixed‑ability groups.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure smooth hand‑over at the end of the day.
- Maintain safeguarding standards and report any concerns.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
- Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS with online update service.
- Two professional child‑related references covering the last two years.
- GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or equivalent.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare.
Required skills
What we offer
- Daily rate of £50‑£55, dependent on experience.
- 15 hours per week (38 weeks per year, term‑time only).
