After School Club Assistant – Primary School (Lewisham)

About the role

We are looking for an After School Club Assistant to support an outstanding primary school in Lewisham. The role runs Monday‑Friday from 3.30 pm to 6 pm, providing a safe and engaging environment for pupils after lessons.

Key responsibilities

• Create high‑quality play opportunities in a safe, caring setting.
• Plan and deliver fun, educational activities throughout the week.
• Assist pupils with their evening meals or snacks.
• Support children with special needs and ensure inclusive participation.
• Work alongside other after‑school staff and build strong relationships with pupils and parents.
• Safely chaperone pupils during collection and follow safeguarding and health & safety guidance.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an after‑school setting, teaching assistant or nursery role.
• Ability to provide physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children.
• Strong organisational skills to plan and execute weekly activities.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Commitment to safeguarding policies and health & safety standards.

Required skills
