Afternoon Teaching Assistant (Temporary) – Primary School

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support primary‑school pupils during afternoon sessions and to help run two after‑school club sessions each week until 5:30 pm. This temporary position starts in September 2026 and runs at least until the October half‑term.
Key responsibilities
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and individual or small‑group learning during the afternoon.
- Help plan and deliver engaging activities for the after‑school club.
- Supervise pupils during club sessions, ensuring safety and a positive environment.
- Support the maintenance of a tidy, welcoming classroom.
Required profile
- Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
- Enthusiastic, proactive and able to engage pupils.
- Team‑player who can collaborate with teachers and staff.
- Flexible to work afternoons and stay until 5:30 pm on designated days.
- TA qualification desirable but not essential.
Required skills
- Basic classroom support and supervision.
What we offer
- Hourly rate between £14.40 and £16.35.
- Opportunity to gain experience in a friendly primary‑school environment.
- Temporary contract with potential for extension.
