About the role

This temporary position is for a friendly primary school in Garstang, looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils during afternoon sessions and supervise after‑school club activities.

Key responsibilities

Assist teachers with learning activities during the afternoon.
Work with individuals and small groups to improve learning outcomes.
Maintain a safe, positive and engaging classroom environment.
Help plan and deliver after‑school club activities.
Supervise pupils attending the after‑school club until 5:30 pm.

Required profile

Experience supporting children in a school or childcare setting.
Enthusiastic, proactive and able to engage pupils.
Team‑player with a flexible attitude.
Willingness to work afternoons and occasional after‑school sessions.
TA qualification desirable but not essential.

Required skills

What we offer

Hourly rate between £14.40 and £16.35.
5 afternoons per week plus two after‑school club sessions.
Start date in September 2026 with a minimum duration until the October half‑term.
