Agricultural & Rural Property Solicitor (1+ PQE)

About the role

An established Agricultural and Rural Land team is seeking a solicitor to support its expanding workload. You will work on a mix of routine and specialist matters, gaining exposure to a broad range of rural property transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage farm sales and purchases, agricultural tenancies and related commercial arrangements.
• Draft and negotiate easements, wayleaves and other land‑related agreements.
• Provide advice on diversification projects such as residential development, renewable energy, forestry, carbon offset and biodiversity net gain.
• Collaborate on joint projects while maintaining your own caseload.
• Deliver commercially focused advice to clients across the agricultural sector.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with 1+ years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
• Interest in building expertise in agricultural and rural property law.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
• Strong commercial awareness and client‑focused mindset.

Required skills

• Knowledge of agricultural tenancies, farm sale and purchase transactions.
• Understanding of land‑related commercial arrangements (easements, wayleaves).
• Familiarity with diversification initiatives such as renewable energy, forestry and residential development.
