AI Architect

About the role

Join LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions (LNIP) as an AI Architect, the technical authority behind Protégé, the next‑generation AI assistant for strategic patent analysis. You will shape the end‑to‑end AI architecture, ensuring it is coherent, scalable, secure, and aligned with RELX Responsible AI standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the AI architecture vision for Protégé, aligning technical decisions with product strategy.
• Evaluate and recommend AI technologies, modelling approaches, and platform components.
• Stay current with advances in agentic AI and translate emerging capabilities into architectural recommendations.
• Author and maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and system design documentation.
• Architect agentic reasoning systems that decompose complex patent questions and compose multi‑step insights.
• Design retrieval and search architectures delivering low‑latency, accurate patent intelligence across structured and unstructured data.
• Define patterns for AI‑driven enrichment and classification of patent data at scale.
• Establish prompt‑engineering standards, evaluation harnesses, and quality frameworks for LLM behavior in production.
• Partner with Product Management to assess feasibility and shape the AI roadmap.
• Collaborate with Security and Platform teams to ensure compliance and robustness.

Required profile

• Senior individual‑contributor with broad influence across engineering, product, and data teams.
• Proven experience designing and governing AI systems at scale.
• Strong understanding of Responsible AI principles and security considerations.
