AI Security Researcher

About the role

Join a leading defence and national security team to research and prototype cutting‑edge AI and cyber‑security solutions. You will protect critical national systems from sophisticated AI‑enabled threats while working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth research on emerging AI security threats, vulnerabilities and attack techniques.
• Design and develop novel tools, prototypes and mitigation strategies for AI‑driven systems.
• Perform vulnerability analysis, reverse engineering and security assessments across diverse platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts and policy experts to translate research into operational capabilities.
• Produce technical reports, white papers and customer‑facing deliverables.
• Present complex findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Experience in exploit development, malware analysis, secure software development or vulnerability research.
• Background in machine‑learning model development, AI/ML security research or related fields.
• Proven ability to turn research into working prototypes or demos.
• Strong communication skills for specialist and non‑specialist audiences.
• Active SC security clearance (DV clearance advantageous).
